Online Ordering
About online ordering: Our ordering system exists primarily to assist our school customers. They are able to order items online and have them delivered to their schools, rather than needing to fill out a paper form or call our store. Our primary form of shipping is "Free delivery to an EMC partner school."
Q. I placed an order for my child to be delivered to school, but there was no place for me to put the school for delivery. What should I do? +
A: Please select “Free delivery to an EMC partner school,” then put your child’s name and school for delivery in the Notes section of the checkout screen. We’ll deliver your order the next time we visit the school.
Q. When do you visit my child’s school? +
A: We have a regular rotation for certain school districts. Please note that we do not always visit every school within a district, only when we have a known drop-off/pick-up.

Q. I have an Ellman’s gift card. Can I use that to buy items online? +
A: Gift cards are best used in store. In order to use an Ellman’s gift card with an online purchase, you will need to enter the five-digit code on the back of your gift card in the Notes section of the checkout screen. If you know your balance, enter that as well. You will still need to enter a credit card as your payment information as we will charge that card should there be a remaining balance.
Note that online purchases are manually processed and your card will not be automatically charged when you place your order. Please mention that you would like to use your gift card in the Notes section before typing in the code/balance information.
Q. What information should I use with my order? Should I use my child’s name? Should I put down the school name and address? +
A: The adult placing the order should use their name and home address for billing purposes. If the family already has an account with us, we should be able to match up your order with your existing account. Otherwise, we will create a new account.
Please do not use your child's name in the billing information for the order. If there is an issue and we need to reach your family, we will want to contact the adult responsible for payment.
You are welcome to use the same information for both billing and shipping. Your child's name and school for delivery goes in the Notes section of the checkout screen so we know who it's for and where to send it.
Q. Are all of the items on your website kept in stock? +
A: No. Only a fraction of what appears on our website is actually kept in store. Many items would need to be special ordered. If you are not in the Chicagoland area, please reach out to us first before placing your order in case we are not able to accommodate your order quickly.
Note that if you are a customer through one of our partner school districts, we keep your required books and many required/recommended accessories in stock.
